Centre for Transitional Peace
Supporting pathways to justice, healing, and lasting peace in Afghanistan.
Our Mission
The Centre for Transitional Peace is an independent initiative supporting inclusive national dialogue, justice, and reconciliation in Afghanistan. Born out of the urgent need for a new social contract, our work brings together diverse voices — including civil society, cultural figures, scholars, and political actors — to address the root causes of conflict and shape a shared path toward stability.
Through a structured four-stage process of dialogue and consultation, the Centre facilitates conversations that confront historical injustice, honour collective pain, and propose pragmatic, community-led solutions. Our approach combines documentation, media outreach, and policy engagement to ensure these efforts translate into sustainable change.
Above all, the Centre is committed to creating a space where people across Afghanistan can reimagine their future — free from violence, rooted in dignity, and guided by principles of justice, coexistence, and collective responsibility.

Meet the team
The Centre for Transitional Peace is guided by a diverse leadership team of public thinkers, civic leaders, and policy advisors. Each member brings deep experience in dialogue, governance, and reform, helping shape a shared vision for peace, justice, and political transition.
“Our history is heavy with pain, but it also holds the seeds of wisdom. This Centre exists not to erase the past, but to confront it — honestly, collectively, and constructively — so that those who have long been silenced can shape the future with dignity.”
